Re: RC Plane Talk
Pretty nice looking go-229. 1/20.7 scale. 32 inch span. Best part about this is i beat b-29 to the punch. ;p

Re: RC Plane Talk
I think i've missed mentioning a couple of other models. Flyfans 64mm F-22 Raptor. 1/17.8 scale. Very nice shape and impressive to behold. Negatives are the fact that it has retractable landing gear means there are no gear doors. The canopy is not tinted and the paint scheme, while correct, is too l...

Re: RC Plane Talk
at certain times of the yeari get itchy for new planes. I go there when i itch. Usually i come up empty but the last few months have been decent. Over there my posts are largely ignored because my concerns are more model accuracy rather than flying qualities......since i don't fly these models...shh...

Re: RC Plane Talk
lol.........you beat me to it. I was just about to post the news. Yes 1/17.4......fuselage works out to 1/16.6 which seems odd but it's probably just an extended rudder by about 1.8 inches. Model looks really nice. Here's another pic of the model. Big cutouts in the rear fuselage to accommodate retr...

Re: RC Plane Talk
btw i have a couple of planes to add: Xfly j-65.......nearly an exact copy of the Gulfstream 650, a business jet nearly the size of a DC-9 airliner. It's 1/17 or 1/17.1, something like that https://www.xfly-model.com/productinfo/752686.html FMS Beaver stol aircraft.....bang on 1/18 scale, comes in a...

Re: HobbyBoss 1/18 FW 190
i just learned that the Hobbyboss A-8 kit has the wrong canopy. It has the blown canopy used on F-8 version of the focke wulf and not the canopy the a-8 had. Good news for anyone wanting to make an F-8 ground attack variant but not great for those wanting to make an A-8 (which the decals included in...

1/18 KV-1, KV-2 and T-34/85.....well kinda
3 brand new releases of 1/18 (in quotation marks) r/c tanks. They all use a common chassis but have somewhat decent 1/18 turrets plunked on top of them. This is the same chassis that was used on the r/c 1/18 (in quotation marks) Pershing of over a decade ago, which was actuallly pretty well received...

3D printing is like a first generation Star Trek replicator.
It has come a long way and the future is very bright as the technology gets better and prices come down. For now, prices are still to high for me to justify but some day..

Re: HobbyBoss 1/18 FW 190
surprising about the single bomb. I'm sure you'll figure it all out and when you do you'll have an impressive fleet of FW-190's. And don't worry if you can't get the racks to look perfect.....ie don't le the perfect be the enemy of the good. Better a good model than no model in my view. And try look...

Re: HobbyBoss 1/18 FW 190
If you haven't got an A-8 yet, get it, it was the the best version of the Fw 190. Then you'll have the canopy you need to mod the A5 into an F8, with a bit of work and research. The kits are going for cheap enough and all 3 versions of 190 are really cool.

WPL RC BM-21 Grad

Says it's 1/16 but it's not. Definitely smaller than that but a bit bigger than 1/18. So more or less 1/17. Just came out in the last couple of weeks. As a model it looks great. As an rc WPL has a reputation for breaking, especially the gears.

Re: Tender Terror for sale on E-bay
yes but, many of the people who buy these things may not be aware of the quality level of the model they are buying. For example, people are paying well over 1000 for a JSI VF 84 Tomcat. Mine is a nice model but has several QC issues. A couple of small glue smudges, the VF-84 logo on one of the vert...

1/18-ish EC-135 Helicopter
By Dickie Toys. Most of their toys are fairly unimpressive but this one is a surprise. A 25 inch long helicopter which is patterned after an EC-135 (now Airbus H135), It's decently accurate and has many working features like lights and sounds, motorized main rotor, working winch etc and the front ca...

Re: RC Plane Talk
A Hawker Tempest, abut 1/16 scale. Looks pretty good. Might be fun to chase around your 1/18 Pegasus V-1 with. Note that this will be bigger than an XD Thunderbolt. They will be about the same length but the Tempest will be significantly spanier (by about 4 inches). https://www.motionrc.com/products...
