A Panzer IV Schmalsturm? Never heard of or seen such an animal. Is this something that someone just made up as a fantasy vehicle or was it a real one off tank thrown together for consideration by the Nazi's?

I think it was planned to be the final variant of the panzer IV but never really came to be, like the Panther F

I was just a wet dream by the Germans in WWII. It was proposed, but then they snapped back to reality when they realized they were going to install that turret, to an already-overloaded Panzer IV H/J chassis.

And to top it off, that turret was not operational (did not rotate) on that chassis.
