I corrected the landing gear on the BBI 51 but not the rake look as you so often have pointed out Teamski. Not many model companies have been able to fix the rake thing either. Yes 21st seems to have a winner on their hands with their new tool Mustang as far as accuracy goes because its near drop dead perfect.
All I ask for 21st is give a release date for it and stick with it.

I agree with you Teamski on the A-10 and BBI. I hope that this recent release from them isn't the only A-10 they will put out. BBI needs to get back to doing originals like they did with the Apachie, Blackhawk, Kiowa, F-16, and F-18. Not recreating the wheel to see who can do it better. I'm really really hoping that 21st is going to finish the A-10 they have. With the attention to detail that 21st is starting to show it will be one heck of an amazing site. On the other hand though, BBI has shown that it has the ability to put an aircraft the size of the A-10 out there with great detail. Hopefully the A-10 is in the works with BBI. But as tight lipped as they are, we won't know till it's about to be on the shelves.

doubtful. WWII is a bigger seller than modern. If modern were selling like hot cakes we'd have seen more of it by now. The Hind was supposed to be released last Christmas. I'm hoping for it this Christmas but it may be canned altogether (which would break my heart in two). Plus modern subjects tend to be huge, while WWII fighters are a more manageable size.
While i still hope and believe we will see further modern releases from BBI (there are just too many rumours floating around) i think we will, if BBI continues in 1/18 scale at all, tend to see more WWII releases.
Given that 21c seems to be picking up steam, as evidenced by their new 'Legends' line i am now of the opinion that 1/18 subjects have been selling pretty well. I am more optimistic about this hobby than i have been of late and my trick knee is telling me that BBI has some groovy stuff in store. If i live long enough...

BBI with tricks up their sleeve? Well they dropped a surprise with their Corsair and god I hope they dont do another 21st release because if they do I'll puke. BBI has to do something different like I know...um...a Hellcat maybe? I know I have the Hellcat on the brain syndrome but how can 21st and BBI ignore the most important Fighter in the pacific for gods sake?

Once again, thanks Bruzzer for the detail shots! Seeing the broken hinge on the XD wing just makes me shudder. How many wings have been destroyed...........
I take it that the bbi wing is easier to remove. Does the gear rotate and retract like the XD version?

The gear rotate and retract like the XD but it locks in place. It doesn't have the support strut like the XD plane. Hadn't noticed that before. There should be be one there. The BBI wing is way easier to remove. So you have your choice what appears to be a better design or more accurate looking. You guys can decide whats better. I hang them anyway. BTW the hinge was only cracked before but I managed to mangle it good this time. Good thing thats my old S1 Kepford 
Yeah, my S1 Kepford's hinges lasted all about 2 hours after I got the thing. I didn't start loosening the hinge screws until I got the British Corsair. Thanks for the photos bruzzer and you saved me some money. My idea of swapping wings wouldnt work because I would have to leave the wings folded because of the tab settings on the BBI Corsair. Oh well it was an idea anyway. I have my Kepford F4U and I'm happy with that.

I scored a bbi Corsair this morning. Nice plane. Mine had no glaring QC issues that I could see. My biggest gripe is the landing gear, its hideous. It has absolutley no detail at all. The tail wheel looks like an afterthought. I will have this one hanging from the ceiling for sure. The flaps seem to hang a but low as well, with no settings between full up and full down. Really not a big deal.
Call me stupid but my most favorite thing about this plane is the fact that all of the lights on the plane are made of clear plastic in appropriate colors. I hate it when lights are just painted on as with the 21C Corsair. I know, its a nit-pick thing to worry about, but its always bothered me. Oh, By the way, the pilot is outstanding! The usual bbi attention to detail there.
Mighty Mustang, the wings are interchangable between the two Corsairs with minimal modifications. They almost fit perfectly. I tried swapping them and they are VERY close. Its very do-able, although in my opinion hardly worth the effort.
Any way, I thought I'd toss in my $.02. The bbi Corsair is a great plane and well worth the $39.99 price.

What are the modifications I would have to do in order to pull this off in your opinion? Because if I can pick one of these up I'm going to try it out and see if it works to my taste. TRU in Burbank had three, now has two Corsairs. They also had two BBi Paras, now have zero!

MightyMustang- Don't let me discourage you, its a very simple mod to perform. I personally won't do it because I am a big fan of the 21C version, of which I have one that I have already fully detailed and added operable flaps etc. (Having the bbi version about 18 months ago would have made that project MUCH easier!)
Really, if you have a Dremel tool it might take about a half hour to make the conversion. There are a few plastic tabs that need to be removed from the bbi wing assembly. The section of fuselage between the wings may need to be shortened,fore to aft, possibly about 1/8". You could sand these pieces down to accomplish this, if you don't have a Dremel. The only thing left to do is to figure out how to attach the wing to the fuselage. I would use 30 minute epoxy. Being that the 21C Corsair screws together and the bbi version snaps together, that is the only part where they really differ. Again, no big deal. Let me know if I can be of assistance.

O.C. CA Recon Report: Mission Viejo TRU has 5 corsairs, 2 P-51's, and all the Bbi Paras. Lot's of Paras on the shelves. Also saw a few Kiowa Recon choppers and a few Ultimate Marine Humvees. While youre there check out the McFarlane Military line. Really neat figures.
Corsair looks incredible in person. The detail is very good. I picked up two of the Paras. Haven't opened them yet, but will when I get home and will get some good photos of them in action.[/img]

I saw two at my TRU, but they were bad. The girl on one had no nose with a folded face and the other look as if someone added some bee bees to the inside of the box and shook vigorously being the paint was beat up all over. The pilot looked good, but the planes were a different story. The paint on the paras were about the same, bad. I wonder if this is whats to come with bbi.
