Sticky figures

Ok so i bought some figures off ebay and they are sticky feeling, the seller told me that they were in an attic, is this a chemical breakdown of the figures? Can i salvage these figures or am i screwed.

Well i do not mean the sticky icky!!!! Heat caused this im sure.

many of the new figures were a bit tacky right out of the package - more so with the US Tankers and germans found three years ago.

I don't think heat would be the issue. My guess would be that they were painted with improperly mixed or low grade paint. I'm not sure what would be a good solution. I did a Google search for ways to cure tacky paint without much luck.

Just roll 'em around in some dirt and sand. The stickyness will be gone and you have instantly weathered figures. :)

Other than that there really isnt much you can do.
