How's the trailer look? WW2-ish or no?

It looks like an M416 with angular fenders.

Tankduel. Did you see this at the warehouse? Which store was it?

Nice, thanks... That looks doable for a hook-up to the 21st jeep or WC51's. Probably needs a paintjob.

Hi Jay, yeah the warehouse is restocking Powerteam for xmas at the moment, I saw it at the westgate branch along with the chinese MBT and Chopper. The new set was $25 but that stuff always goes on 50% on boxing day. I might put some on ebay, hope you haven't got ideas, Jay, after I told you of my success with the SU-27's I bought up

So, there were WW2 trailers with angular fenders?

Not entirely sure... Removing them wouldn't be too hard though, to have a good basic trailer which is sorely lacking these days.

Ha! nah, Ebay is your department. I just want to stock my shelf, one vehicle at a time.

I've just picked up the jeep with trailer set and the "Main battle tank" set. Jeep trailer looks pretty good.
The clearly "clip on" wheels and the large dopey trailer hitch take a few points off, but overall it's pretty cool.
Anyone detailed the the jeep into a realistic Mutt? I think the trailer hitch sits too low as well. I'll try to get some pictures up if anyone is interested.

looks neat.....what will you do with it?

mmm not too sure yet. Was thinking of just detailing the Jeep & Trailer together. Maybe make a soft-top for the jeep. For now it's just going to be on the shelf "as is".

what was the real trailer used for?

Like any trailer - to extend the hauling capability or capacity.
I found this website:
http://wwiijeepparts.com/Archives/JeepTrailer.html
which has some good reference material. Here is a quote from that site:
These trailers were also amphibious! They were designed that way. The trailers could be floated across streams by themselves (without a jeep or other vehicle) either by having soldiers wading alongside them or by using ropes from both shores tied to the trailer. The trailers were designed to also be towed behind 2 amphibious vehicles - the Studebaker Weasel, and the amphibious jeep - the Ford GPA - both in and out of the water"
The PTE trailer is meant to represent the Vietnam era M416 Cargo Trailer (as Tankduel mentioned earlier).

So, to make it more WW2-ish, all it really needs is rounded fenders eh?
Hmmm... That may be something I have to pick up then for my halfies.

Ha, yeah I was just watching something on the history channel and it showed a half track with a trailer.
I just bought another set so I can try building some round fenders for it.
