My Medium Scale Armor Collection

I have quite a few diecast, polystone and plastic armor models in the larger scales---1:30th-1:35th-----and even more in the smaller sizes---1:60th-1:72nd------but my favorite is the 1:43-1:50th, or "medium" scale, range. I find that this size offers enough detail to satisfy me but does not pose the shelf space limitations of the larger models, while the smaller replicas are, in my opinion, just too small. So I make it a point to seek out armor models in my favorite scale range, with brands like Corgi, Solido, Verem, Gaso.line, Schuco and Tamyia providing most of my ready made products, along with a few kit-makes. I thought I'd share some pictures of representative samples from this part of my collection. Let's start with some WWII U.S. AFVs:

Thanks, Snake. Counting those in storage and cutting across all scales, I've got about 350-375 armor models. But in my favorite scale range---the 1:40s----I'm still hunting for a Stuart, T-72, Panzer MKII, Type 97, S Tank, and lots of others.

Thanks, NH. The Comet is by Corgi in 1:50th scale.

Thanks, AG.

The two Italian models were sold under the Schuco label, though I've also heard them called Edison models.
