I'm just in the tear down stage of rippin' up a Hanomag at the moment, but the tracks section is going to another project. My model will not be exact, but good enough for me. It's fun to build things and in time, I can prefect my military modeling skills and build rivit correct models, but for now, I just wanna have a little fun and build something

Perhaps I can improve on the Hun's designs and make 'em better

Not much to report other than I'm sawing away at the Hanomag
I have removed the track sections - intact without taking out the screws
But I am cutting away the floor of the hanomag to preserve the mount for the track sections. Soon I will be shortening the lenght to the proper or close to the prototype

Pictures
Everyone always asks for pictures
So Here's where it's at
I've had a couple intresting ideas to improve, yet better to say -"make due with what I have "
So it's going to look a bit different then a Sdkfz 222
But it'll still be cool
Da General
Now the chopping pic.s

Well I think I should rename the thread and drop the Sdkf 222
This will NOT look like the actual unit, but hopefully something similar
THe turret off of the 1/32 tank won't work, too small
So now I'm thinkin' a Panzer turret
Just trimmed down a bit. Also, I don't want to fart around building the sloped back rear end, so it'll be like the Hanomag with a twist
Perhaps I will call it SdKfz 626 and put a Sticth charactor sticker on the side of it
I thought this would be an easier project. I find now I was mistaken
But I will have fun building .... something Da General

It never is. Why do you think that it takes about 6 months to 3 years to do a full custom job.

After doing some measuring, the 1/18th Panzer IV turret is too large
So I'm off to Target to measure the turret on the FOV modern Bradley vehicle. Perhaps if it is small enough, I can use it and rework the sides and cut off the top to make a movable(side to side) turret for my Armoured car
Da General

Actually blasto since you have the seats and tracks off you could turn this project into this:

You could use one of your pioneer panzerwagon guns and make something similiar in the picture

Intresting Idea V2
But I have the track saved for a secret project
I know people will pick at it because the tracks aren't correct, but I'll love it
Anyway, here's where the project is at:
I have just gotten home and have bought an FOV Bradley of which I will remove the turret and put the rest in a sales ad on BST. I am trying to determine how I will do the turret and how much to shorten the body of the hanomag. I had a thought of leaving it full lenght and having it as a german APC, but who knows
Anyway, it's time to get to work and see what I can do with it all
Da General

Current progress pictures
After hours and hours of sawing and carving on a 3rd vehicle, the project is starting to take a little more shape
Now this is not or is close to looking like the final version, but just an idea so far.

There's still lots to be changed and many more hours of work left on it
But I think it's looking like work in progress
Go ahead and laugh if you must, but what will transpire from this should be impressive

Progress report
I got the front set of wheels on and reworked the fenders. I also added a second headlight and am now working on the turret. There has been LOTS of sawing, filing, etc to do on the turret
But here's what it looks like so far
I also deceided to name it "The Dragon wagon"

Hahahahaha
Yes, to lose that movie would be unfortunate
As asked, what do I do with the spare parts - Hmmm, I guess I place them in a box for future new projects
Man, I gotta rebuild the whole turret from that Bradley
I wish to make it an open top so you can see inside and put the wire grates over the top like the 222. So after I get rid of this headache I seemed to wake up with, it'll be back to work on this project for a bit before work
Da General

updated progress report
Just a few pictures on the progress

I built up a 1/32 Pk40 to simulate a 1/18 37mm gun, I still need to swap out the flash assester on the end of the muzzle with a flange. Also I'm still carving away at the turret housing to get it to look more like a german WWII style. More progress yet to come
