Post by normandy » Sun Sep 21, 2008 5:16 am

Anybody know what ever happened to these Dual-Packs? I got one in a trade but other than that they don't exist in this part of the country.
TKO got any intel on these figures?

Out of the 11 Walmarts in and around Albuquerque, only one had the 2 pks. I picked up 2 of each of the D-Day ones at regular price of $8. I found the DAK's at the same Walmart for $2 on clearance.

The D-Day ones never made it to clearance, because they were on the one Walmart's pegs for only a short time.

Just like the FOV KT, I never had a chance to buy these two packs because I never saw them.

I have NEVER seen a 2 pack set in my neck of the woods! I would have bought some in a heartbeat!

2 packs

Post by dandaman » Sun Sep 28, 2008 10:53 am

You can still find a few dual packs in Tyler, TX.

There were 5 DAK dual packs and several of the Vietnam dual packs left.

For some reason I won't go near the Vietnam dual pack. I'm like "Ew, gross."

Maybe it's too reminiscent of the Platoon wave.

I found/bought a couple of the Wehrmacht Duel Packs in a Walmart in Harrisonburg, VA (off I-81) about a month ago when I was there. Haven't seen any since or in my area at all! Most of the local Walmarts have not updated their 1/18 pegs for a long time!

My nearest WM had a lot of D-Day 2-packs for quite some time, and there were 2 German 2-packs from the wave just chilling, then they disappeared one day. Very odd...

Well I was in WM this weekend and low and behold, they're back! And not only did they return but they were $5 each, so I bought 'em both and left with a couple more camo'd Germans for the old army, and on the cheapy cheap.

Wish I coudl find the new D-Day figures as I'd love some more "snipers", the German ain't half bad, and the .30 cal figure is just great and I'd love a ton more of him.

DAK 2-packs dried up here fast... Like the D-Days they were only available at one WM I visited (a different one) and they went fast. That WM still has a lot of DAK singles (mp40 and range finder), and some Bruno's which are a good figure too.

Nam figures dried up here... Someone came through and cleared out all the Platoon figures we had, all at full price, and those were at every WM practically, so I'd say the sell-through on them wasn't all that bad actually. TRU still has the regular Nam guys here and there though.

I'm with the others above - I never saw the two-packs. Even Wal Marts I visited on road trips hundreds of miles from my area didn't have them. Its not like I really care. I was thinking I could have used the Vietnam pack a few weeks ago, but the need passed and I don't need it. I certainly do not need more Germans.

Still, the fact that large areas of the country NEVER got to see them is quite troubling for the prospects of the distribution of any future products. Financial troubles aside, I would buy 21c items if they would be more readily available in the home state of their freaking company! Then again, if that were the case, they would still bypass my area in the middle of California and so I would still have the same problem

either we will see tons of these two packs later down the road - or they will be super hard to find and expensive in a few years.

2-Pack Update

Post by dandaman » Mon Oct 06, 2008 5:23 pm

I stopped by the Tyler, TX WalMart and guess how much the 2-packs were marked down to?

$3.50 each!

I bought them all out. All the DAK and the even the detested Vietnam figures. I love clearance items!!!

P.S. I stopped at that other WalMart that had the individual DAKs on clearance, but they were all gone.

2-packs were $3.50 each at a WM I visited tonight as well. I got two DAK packs and a lone D-Day german 2-pack hanging around. Marked $5.00 but rank up $3.50[/chef's dad] so I was pretty geeked on them being even less. Wish they had more stuff, but... well they didn't.

Wow, as happy as I am for you guys I hate to think I haven't even had a chance to buy these in WM for any price. Thank goodness for the board members who take pity on us and are willing to sell or trade all these goodies. 8)

I hate WM distribution.

The 2 Packs have landed in SoCal!
I wasn't really expecting anything at TRU, but there they were  , all known sets, the D-Day, Wehrmacht, DAK, and Vietnam packs. They are already in the price database and ringed up $9.99 each. Sure, not $3.50 like the rest of you guys are finding it, but hey, they're finally in the west coast! I got myself the D-Day and Wehrmacht packs.

Tman, immeww2, or anyone in California, have you guys checked your local stores?

The 2-packs indeed have landed in Northern, CA as well. Found the Werhmachat, D-Day, DAK and Vietnam packs at the Dublin, CA TRU. Picked up the Wehrmacht and D-Day packs. Awesome looking figures!

Looks like our local TRU is restocking the 2-packs. Quite a few of them now on the shelves.
