Kind of limited selection (so far at least) and they definitely aren't trying to be competitive with Walmart on price. It kind of surprises me, since they are such a big dealer for FOV, and with FOV considering a move in 1/18th, too, it seems like that would hurt their standing with Panache Place... On the other hand, any new potential outlet for 21st is good news!

You got that right, I checked it out and the selection was nothing special and the prices seemed rather steep. Nothing here to get too excited about, at least for now.

My Target (Central AR) has plenty of German FOV.

They still have the 1/72 tank from last year (Panther?) and 1/72 Stukas are seen (and sold) regularly.

As has been mentioned on this board before, it's a local issue.

ah, the joys of political correctness. I guess it's the theory that if we only show one side of history, then maybe only one side of it happened... IMHO, any retailer that refuses to offer German vehicles is not much different that those alternative historians who claim the Nazi atrocities never happened. The only way to prevent repeating history is to be aware of it--and hiding one side of it doesn't help. Sorry for jumping on the soapbox there, but...

I wish WM would sell XD on their site.

Also, my Target has quite a large number of German Fov. More German vehicles than Allied last time I was there.

Actually, our local Target has had some German armor and aircraft on occasion, but the local FOV selection is so intermittent anyway that they sometimes go months with none in stock. The soapbox is actually more aimed at TRU.
And unfortunately, while only a small percentage of Germans were active members of the Nazi party in the 20's and 30's, our school history books and a lot of our political organizations have managed to overlook that point. When I did my Master's thesis on the connection between fascism and economic crisis in 20th century Germany (both the rise in the 20's and the surge in hate crimes in the early 90's in the former DDR), it was amazing to see how much "common" history has simplified the truth.

Since this topic is headed towards being off topic, let me steer it back on course and say, if any website is willing to sell 21st century toys, I am all for it.

Here is a link to Target site using "21st Century Toys" in the search engine:

http://www.target.com/gp/search.html/re ... ury%20toys

It looks like they have everything listed at the MSRP. I hope they go on clearance soon.

at a recent trade show visit, I spoke at length with someone from Panache Place, and he mentioned that they were considering the possibility of getting into 1/18. No clue if it will come to pass, but it does seem to be a growing market (which is ironic that it took so long, since I started collecting die-cast 1/18 Ferraris and other exotics back in the 80's, but they all came out of Europe). Considering their efforts in 1/16, it's not a stretch--I just hope they don't target any 1/18th offerings at the same price point as the 1/16 Tiger and King Tiger. When I consider some of their armor offerings in 1/32 and 1/72, I can only hope that he wasn't just yanking my chain!

Yeah that Target 21st offering is pretty lackluster. I could get all the stuff cheaper on eBay.

I'd be buying FOV stuff if they made 1:18! I'd even be buying all their 1:32 stuff if their 1:32 figures HAD articulation!
As far as 21C XD on Target's Online site, it's been there for over a year I think and at about the same high prices. Why wait for those prices to fall when you can get GREAT prices at smalljoes.com!

Target will sell German AFVs. Just got myself the 1/32nd FOV Late Tiger I at Target, and in the past, FOV 1/72nd Tiger I and II.
